Minna Trower, a graduate from McGill University has had a varied and exciting career in education. She taught physical education, primary school, students with learning disabilities (from pre-school to the college level) and intellectually handicapped adults.
She has a deep understanding of learning problems for she not only has acquired the academic background but more significantly, she herself has learning disabilities. Thus experiences that were once trials and tribulations now furnish the insight that allow her to facilitate the learning of others.
Minna lives in the beautiful Eastern Townships (Quebec) where she spends many an hour enjoying the out-of-doors. She sincerely thanks her children for their assistance and encouragement.
Following your seminar, I took your case to the Principal, the Registrar and the Counselling Centre. The Registrar now informs me that a policy statement on learning disabled students will appear in the calendar! The system would appear to work. Your guidance & prodding have been most useful. I write to tell you how grateful I am for your reading program. For many months I had felt woefully inadequate and felt I was a failure even though I had taught at the university level for some 25 years. And then came your program.
The first tutoring session with your materials was an eye opener for me. Somehow my student suddenly seemed to get it. Digging out the vowel and sounding it enabled him to put together a three-letter word for the first time. The look on his face made the eleven months of Thursday evenings worth it - for him and for me. Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Sidney Feldman

Update: Six months later Dr. Feldman's student became the recipient of the Learner Achievement Award - a national award initiated by the late Peter Gzowski, a renowned Canadian broadcaster.
Upon realizing the value of the Program, I bought it out of pocket rather than going through the time consuming process of a school purchase.
Thank you for your letter. It gave eloquent testimony to your deep concern for children with learning difficulties. The child's composition you appended was both instructive and touching and it made vivid your argument about early intervention and support for youngsters like him. Thank you as well for your indefatigability on behalf of your cause.
Minna Trower is a gifted individual who has an excellent understanding of learning disabilities as she herself experienced such difficulties and therefore sees this field not only from the teacher's viewpoint but from the learner's as well.
Mrs. Trower, you have made Steven's schooling much more enjoyable for him and my life with Steven more pleasant. Steve will never be an 'A' student but he can now look at things differently. I wish the secondary school had five Mrs.Trowers. The kids that need your help would sure like school a lot better. Thank you ever so much for all that you have done for Steve.
One important person in my life is Mrs. Trower. I went to see her every week for extra help in math. She also helped me with my other subjects. She gave me more confidence in myself. I really respect Mrs. Trower.
